Garden Spells Hits Bestseller List

If you missed my Sept. 1 review of Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen, you might want to backtrack and check it out. This first novel hits the New York Times Fiction Bestseller List at number seven this coming Sunday, according to their website.

It's a special, magical debut.

Garden Spells is a great book. I was lucky enough to win it from bookreporter.com. It is like an adult fairy tale. My granddaughter (19) picked it up when she was here and didn't get out of the chair until she finished it.

Pat,

I had about the same feeling your granddaughter did. It's one of those special books that you don't want to put down.

My copy is on the way and I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm consoling myself with the new Daisy Dalrymple mystery. Ha!

Kay, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I just feel that once in a while, a book deserves to be on the bestsellers lists, and cracks through a list that includes another so-so Patterson or Cornwell. Garden Spells is one of those special first novels that deserves to be praised.
