I have just finished 'Dandy Gilver & the Proper Treatment of Bloodstains' - Dandy is an aristocratic amateur detective & in this book she's in 1920s Edinburgh at the time of the General Strike. Good details about the events of the time - and Dandy is very funny & self-deprecating. Enjoyed it.
Now onto 'The Secret Life of Bees', which I'm reading for the library group. Really good so far.

Josh looks a little overwhelmed at the sight of the TBR pile - I can relate!
I'm looking forward to your review of Bella Fortuna - it sounds like something I would enjoy.
I'm currently reading Zoobiquity: What Animals Can Teach Us About Health and the Science of Healing. It's a fascinating look at how all of us can benefit if veterinarians and physicians work together - and it's not nearly as dry as this sounds!
We are finally getting some much needed rain (really more of a drizzle at this point) in central Texas. Perfect day to finish up Don't Ever Get Old, a debut novel by Daniel Friedman. It's an excellent book and I highly recommend it. Enjoy Les Miserables - haven't seen it in years, but it's a favorite of mine as well.
I'm finishing up the Mackenzie family saga by Linda Howard for the umpteenth time (I LOVE those stories), McKettrick's Luck on the Kindle and the new J. D. Robb, Delusion in Death (one of Nora's more gory ones, if you ask me).

Rosemary,
I have those Dandy books, and I have to get to them soon. You always make them sound good!
Ingrid,
Bella Fortuna took a back seat last night to Bob Tarte's Kitty Cornered about life with six cats. I'm sure you'd enjoy it!
Jane,
I understand that need for rain. I love a dreary day when I get to sit home and read. Thank you! I will enjoy Les Miserables!
Judith,
I've read some of the McKettrick books, but I don't think I've read the Mackenzie ones. And, it's been a while since I read J.D. Robb. I actually prefer her trilogies under Nora Roberts.
I'm on a suspense kick, so I plan to read all of Allison Brennan's Lucy Kincaid series, beginning with Love Me To Death.
HA! Josh always makes me smile. That's a great pic, Lesa.
I'm just starting to read Michelle Gagnon's YA novel, Don't Turn Around, and I'm hooked, even though I'm not sure exactly what's going on yet. She's very good at building tension, so I need to get back there and read more...like now.
I hope everyone enjoyed their books today. And, Beth? Josh says hi!
Josh is so cute!
I'm reading Echoes by Maeve Binchy. Sometimes an older book like this is just what I'm in the mood for.
You're right, Carol. Sometimes an older book is perfect.
